Passionate about medicine, music, travel, cooking, cycling, nature and art.

I am an optometrist in private practice in New Jersey. i practice primary care optometry with a special interest in the link between vision and learning. My day runs the gamut from treating eye infections to diagnosisng diabetes and hypertension through dilated fundus exams to prescribing glasses and contact lenses , to counseling people on macular degeneration and treating glaucoma. I am married with two daughters, one of whom is intersted in pursing a career in science as well. I never had any frum female role models as I went through my arduous years of schooling and juggling a young family, so I would love to be able to share my experiences and expertise with other young women in the medical professions. 

I am a doctoral student at the University of Oxford, in the department of Zoology. I am researching the evolution of communication, looking at both signalling in bacteria and vocal begging behavior in birds.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Harvard University, in Human Evolutionary Biology. My thesis was on sex differences in the function of play behavior in chimpanzees.

Some of my hobbies include hiking, running, rugby, and snow boarding.

I am a Neuroscience major and pre-med at Wellesley College in Massachusetts.  (I am also a national registry EMT.)

I'm a mommy to 3 beautiful, fun kids who are my motivation and inspiration. I'm applying to nursing schools for an accelerated BSN degree, now that I have completed all of my pre-requisites. I'm very nervous about starting such a program with a young and demanding family, however it has been my dream for a long time and I'm a bit impatient to start as well. My long-term goal is to become a midwife, I am very passionate about all things pregnancy, delivery and baby.
